I’m Ashleigh Brown, a fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist. Passionate about helping animals live their happiest, healthiest lives. With a BSc (Hons) in Equine Therapy & Rehabilitation and a PGDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy, I’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of animals, tailoring care to their unique needs.
My journey in animal care started early, inspired by my childhood pony, Taffy, who fueled my passion for veterinary physiotherapy. When I brought him home for his well-deserved retirement, it cemented my commitment to providing exceptional care. His passing motivated me even further to treat every animal I work with as if they were my own.
This philosophy isn’t just professional—it’s personal. Growing up with my dog Boo, now almost 15, I’ve experienced the importance of ongoing care in managing age-related conditions. And with my spirited 4-year-old dog Nelly keeping me on my toes, I’m reminded daily how vital maintenance is for long-term health.
Veterinary physiotherapy is often associated with recovery after injury, but did you know it’s just as important for overall health and wellness?
Why Veterinary Physiotherapy Matters
Proactive Prevention: Regular sessions go beyond addressing current issues; they identify potential problems before they arise, ensuring your pets stay active, mobile, and pain-free for years to come.
Enhanced Performance: Whether your pet is a working dog, a competitive athlete, or simply enjoys playtime, physiotherapy improves their strength, flexibility, and endurance— helping them perform at their best.
Aging Gracefully: As pets age, physiotherapy can help to manage age-related conditions, ensuring they remain comfortable and mobile.
Improved Quality of Life: Consistent care promotes well-being, helping your pets enjoy a happier, healthier, and more active life.
Rehabilitation: Tailored physiotherapy techniques can effectively manage injuries and chronic conditions, providing pain relief and promoting the best possible recovery.
Investing in your pet’s long-term health through veterinary physiotherapy is one of the best gifts you can give them.
What to Expect During a Session
When you bring your pet in for a session, here’s how it works:
Comprehensive History: We start by discussing your pet’s background and specific concerns while I take the time to connect with them, ensuring they feel at ease.
Assessment: I’ll conduct both a static and dynamic evaluation, analysing your pet’s conformation and gait patterns.
Hands-On Examination: Through palpation, I’ll identify areas in need of attention and determine the best course of treatment.
Tailored Treatment: This may include manual therapies, electrotherapies, and remedial exercises, all customized to your pet’s needs.
Detailed Report & Plan: After the session, you’ll receive a thorough report of my findings, along with a personalized exercise plan to support your pet’s ongoing health and recovery.
